Spanish for Journalism
Designed for Journalism students, the goals of this course include:
- To enhance students´ knowledge of journalism in Spain, by identifying different journalistic genres, introducing students to formal press, radio, and television.
Objectives:
- To differentiate between spoken and written journalistic lexicon
- To analyze and debate topics from the media written in Spanish
- To teach students to identify the main ideas in an article, and to recognize and debate political, social and economic aspects within different genres
- To experiment with new ways of expressing opinion, and to be able to present and critique the news through various modes of communication
- To learn to conduct an interview, to write and to edit a journalistic article.
- To focus on correct syntactic structures, writing with perfect spelling, grammar and punctuation to accurately and concisely report the news
It is recommended that students taking this course have at least a B1-B2 level of Spanish
