Spanish for Journalism

Designed for Journalism students, the goals of this course include:

To enhance students´ knowledge of journalism in Spain, by identifying different journalistic genres, introducing students to formal press, radio, and television.

To differentiate between spoken and written journalistic lexicon
To analyze and debate topics from the media written in Spanish
To teach students to identify the main ideas in an article, and to recognize and debate political, social and economic aspects within different genres
To experiment with new ways of expressing opinion, and to be able to present and critique the news through various modes of communication
To learn to conduct an interview, to write and to edit a journalistic article.
To focus on correct syntactic structures, writing with perfect spelling, grammar and punctuation to accurately and concisely report the news

It is recommended that students taking this course have at least a B1-B2 level of Spanish
