Spanish for Medicine

An ideal course for Health Science Majors, such as:

• Pre-Medicine and Medicine, Nursing, Kinesiology, Physical/Occupational Therapy, Sport Science, Nutrition and Food Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, EMT/Paramedic, Healthcare Administration and Management, Public Health and Psychology

Objectives:

• Teach vocabulary related to:
  • The human body, the hospital, general medicine, nutrition, mental health, alternative medicine, first aid, sports medicine etc.
• Improve communicative competencies within the realm of Healthcare:
  • Practice the use of medical vocabulary through completing group work, dialogues, debates, interviews, oral presentations, role-playing activities and case-studies
  • Write and interpret prescriptions, diagnostic reports and medical histories
  • Improve their comprehension and use of oral and written ideas within the healthcare industry

This course is offered to students with ALL levels of Spanish.
