Spanish for Pharmacy
This is an ideal course for Pharmacy and other Health Science Majors.
Objectives:
- Teach vocabulary related to pharmaceutical concepts
- Anatomy & Physiology
- Disease pathology
- Medical Terminology
- Uses of specific medications
- Active ingredients, dosage, secondary effects etc.
- Participate in role-play exercises to improve communication with patients, or pharmacy technicians
- Describe people and actions, provide advice and suggestions, ask for and give information, inform patients about proper usage of medication
- Discuss medical prescriptions, describe the organization and distribution of a pharmacy, OTCs (Healthcare stores), and public and private hospitals
- Distinguish the differences between the Spanish and American healthcare and pharmaceutical systems, using both formal and informal language
This course is offered to students with a B1-B2 level of Spanish.
